a-z search home home programme photos young researcher's award posters company stands welcome location accommodation funding contact 12 th uk particle technology forum 2014 "in conjunction with psa2014" manchester conference centre 16 th - 17 th september, 2014 the particle technology forum was devised in the mid-1990s as an informal national uk conference to bring together researchers, and especially young researchers, active in all aspects of particle technology in the uk. the uk is a world leader in particle technology, in disciplines ranging from physics and chemistry to chemical engineering, and the forum was established to support the momentum in this area and promote networking between different research groups, students and industry. the primary supporters of the forum are the icheme particle technology subject group and the rsc particle characterisation interest group. the forum is an event normally hosted by a university chemical engineering department. the last forum, in 2012, was held at loughborough the forum is operated on a break-even basis, with the emphasis being on keeping costs down to encourage attendance by young researchers. for this forum we have joined with the international conference psa2014. the invited speakers are all experts in both particle technology and engineering. this joining together of the ukpt and psa2014 provides a wonderful opportunity for the younger members of the particle technology scene to engage with a truly international community. conference registration is now open register here . please note that the registration page is part of the particulate systems analysis conference. latest news programme announced: a total of 40 submissions were received and a judging panel of four members of the special interest group has selected six papers to be presented orally at the forum, with another 12 poster 'pitches' (of 5 minutes duration) and all posters eligible for the poster prizes. see the young researcher award and poster competition pages. registration location and times: the best map to find us with is the one on the manchester conference centre web site. the registration desk will be in the foyer and it opens at 12:00, closes at 14:00 on the 16th september. the final timetable for the event will be published later, but the conference finishes on the 17th september at approximately 16:00. registration open the pcig group of the rsc are handling registrations for the event. the fees will be (inc vat): industrial - £280.00 academic - £280.00 icheme/rsc member - £265.00 student – £180.00 the above fees do not include accommodation, a variety of accommodation is available in manchester. young researcher award and poster competition candidates announced the young researcher award and poster competition participants will be announced in july 2014. young researcher award the young researcher award is presented to the best oral presentation made at the forum and has the value of £400. it is sponsored for this forum by the brian scarlett memorial fund . poster competition another award to be presented at the meeting is for the 'best poster'. this will be an award of £250 and a limited number of participants will have the option of making a 5 minute elevator pitch during the forum, as well as displaying their poster for the duration of the event. ptsg of icheme and pcig of royal society of chemistry the icheme particle technology subject group and the particle characterisation interest group of the royal society of chemistry are pleased to announce their collaboration to host the 12th uk particle technology forum in 2014 to be hosted during the international conference psa2014. programme the provisional conference programme for the 12th uk particle technology forum will be announced in july 2014. we are pleased to be able to bring you an excellent line-up of invited speakers , together with presentations by young researchers and many posters. deadline for abstracts abstracts are invited for the 12th uk particle technolgy forum until monday 7th july 2014, after which the papers for oral presentation and posters will be selected. abstracts should be up to two sides of a4 in length and submitted as pdf files (maximum size 2 mb) to richard holdich guest speakers announced the organising committee are delighted to announce the programme of speakers for this year's uk particle technology forum. ptf12 sponsors support for the particle technology forum has so far been confirmed from the following bodies: if you are interested in participating or supporting ptf12, please contact the organisers .
